Beijing Expo Park is the venue for the 9th China International Garden Expo. It is located on the banks of the Yongding River in the Fengtai District of southwest Beijing.
The total area is 267 hectares, with the Yongding River's new right embankment to the east, Yingshan Park to the west, Meishi Kou Road to the south, and Lianshi West Road to the north. It relies on the Yongding River and echoes the Lugou Bridge, with a rich historical and cultural atmosphere, diverse terrain, and a unique landscape.
Beijing Expo Park is located on the banks of the Yongding River, adjacent to Lugou Bridge. There are 5 main entrances to Beijing Expo Park, numbered 1 to 5, distributed along the Expo Avenue. You can directly enter the main exhibition hall from Gate 3. Jinxiu Valley is located between Gate 3 and Gate 4, and the China Garden Museum and Yongding Tower are not far from Gate 5.
I visited Ningbo Garden first, followed by Wuhan Garden, Zhengzhou Garden, Chongqing Garden, Lhasa Garden, Fujian Garden, Guangdong Garden, Jiangsu Garden, and Beijing Garden. Personally, I think Beijing Garden is the best, followed by Jiangsu Garden, Guangdong Garden, Fujian Garden, and Jinan Garden!
Now let's enter the colorful and unique Beijing Expo Park together and appreciate the distinctive representative buildings and garden art from different regions.
The European-style exhibition garden in Beijing Expo Park is like a piece of art carefully crafted by an artist. From nothing to existence, the elegant, simple, and atmospheric European-style exhibition garden is presented before our eyes.
Here, Europe showcases advanced landscaping techniques, new materials, and new achievements from both domestic and international sources. I also saw various works of garden art, as well as rockeries, flower arrangements, and bonsai art.
The main landscape of the European garden is inspired by the architectural style of the Normandy Castle in France, with the pointed roofs from the Château de Villandry. The white reliefs and white colonnades exude the romantic sentiment of French classicism.
The colonnade design is modeled after the Louvre, and the rose steps symbolizing love are embedded in the castle.
The small angel fountain, the winged statue of the Virgin Mary, and the statue of Saint Peter riding a spirited horse are all worth stopping for photography.
In this journey, we have experienced the full international flavor. After visiting Islamic gardens and European gardens, combined with our own Chinese gardens, the world's three major garden systems are complete.
There is no need to linger inside the castle. The real place worth lingering is the lawn in the garden: the Italian plateau garden, the French classical garden, and the English landscape garden are all captivating.
Next to the "European Garden" is the Islamic garden. The Islamic-style garden is composed of arches, gate areas, water courtyards, ceremonial backyards, secondary courtyards, and ceremonial towers. The exquisite and unique Islamic geometric flower beds connect these buildings as one.
Entering the secondary courtyard of the exhibition garden from the right, the courtyard layout here perfectly absorbs the charm of the famous Alhambra Palace Lion Court in Spain. The beautiful rectangular courtyard and two intersecting cross-shaped water channels, where the water channels intersect, several lions support a large fountain, and water sprays from their mouths, flowing into the water channels and flowing to the east-west and north-south corridors. After that, passing through the water courtyard is the ceremonial backyard, which is the place for holding festivals and receiving distinguished guests. A three-story banquet hall with a crescent-shaped roof and a shiny dome exudes luxury and elegance. The surrounding Islamic-style patterned columns and doors and windows convey exquisite, delicate, and profound sacred temperament. The function of this place now is an Islamic restaurant.
Beijing Garden, known as the "Garden of Ten Thousand Gardens," is integrated with Jinxiu Valley and is the largest area in the Expo Park, showcasing the royal garden style.
The buildings in Beijing Garden include Jujing Pavilion, Zhanlian Xie, Danbo Ju, Jingming Xuan, Yongchun Pavilion, Xunfang Ting, Fenghuang Zhai, Tianxiang Hall, Wanjing Gate, Shuangfeng Tower, and Zhiqiu Ting.
Entering the first courtyard of Beijing Garden, it is a courtyard-style palace garden, with pine stones and green bamboo planted according to the scenery, reflecting a quiet and elegant palace atmosphere.
The second courtyard is a landscape garden where nature and art intersect, highlighting grandeur and magnificence, and it is the classic landscape of the entire garden. The third courtyard is a subtle and introverted royal mountain garden, with the main building, Wanxiang Zhaohui, located here.
Wanxiang Zhaohui is the highest point of Beijing Garden, and the square pool, book pavilion, corridors, pavilions, stone bridges, etc., are all visible in the garden.
The entire park gives me a feeling of beautiful mountains, clear waters, fragrant flowers, and birdsong. However, there is also a sense of technology everywhere, as if stepping into a future world.
The design here is innovative, with bright colors and surprises everywhere, making people feel a bit lost and overly excited for a while.
I wonder if there are too few experiences like this in life. What are we really pursuing, and what is the meaning of life?
Friends, Beijing Expo Park is a great place for us to reexamine life and contemplate the meaning of life. Here, we can enjoy the beauty bestowed by nature and be constantly inspired by our imagination to explore the unknown world.
