"The Xishan Trail of Yanqi Lake is one of the famous hiking trails in Huairou District, Beijing. It is located on the west side of Yanqi Lake and is approximately 5 kilometers long. It is a trail that combines hiking, sightseeing, and leisure activities. The starting point of the trail is located at the parking lot on the west side of Yanqi Lake. It climbs up along the mountain road and has multiple resting points along the way, allowing visitors to rest and enjoy the surrounding scenery during the climbing process. The trail offers beautiful views of the entire Yanqi Lake and the magnificent surrounding mountains, allowing people to experience the charm of nature.
The P5 parking lot of the Xishan Trail of Yanqi Lake can be navigated by self-driving. It has a large space and can accommodate both large and small vehicles. The parking fee for small cars is 20 yuan with no time limit.
The total length of the trail is 8 kilometers (a map is recommended to be taken at the entrance of the scenic area), and there are no toilets or supply areas along the entire trail except for the parking lot. It is recommended to walk to the Zoujia viewing point at exit 3 for leisurely sightseeing.
Opening hours: Open until November 1st. Open all day from Monday to Sunday, 8:00-17:00.
From here, you can overlook the entire Yanqi Peninsula and see buildings such as the conference center, Kempinski Hotel, golf course, and Yanqi Tower.
The most classic scenery of the entire trail is near exit 3, on the three adjacent viewing platforms - "Listening to the Echo of Geese," "Surrounded by Greenery," and "Overlooking the Peaks and Waves." Many travel articles have their first pictures taken at these viewing platforms.
